Giovanni Abramo is Technological Research Director, Head of the Laboratory for Studies in Research Evaluation at the
Institute for System Analysis and Computer Science (IASI-CNR) of the National Research Council of Italy. He is also
Honorary Professor, Waikato Management School, New Zealand and Adjunct Professor of Management of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy. His research interests focus on evaluative bibliometrics.

 
Dag Aksnes
Research Professor
Nordic Institute for studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU)

Dag W. Aksnes is research professor at the Nordic Institute for studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU), Norway, and affiliated with the Centre for Research Quality and Policy Impact Studies. Aksnes’ research covers various topics within the field of bibliometrics, such as citation analysis and assessment of research performance.

Alex Fenton

Alex Fenton is a researcher at DZHW, Berlin and a postdoc in the research group ‘Reflexive Metrics’ at the Humboldt University of Berlin. His PhD (Sociology, Hannover 2018) investigated the contemporary history of official poverty measurement in Britain and Germany. He was previously Research Fellow and Research Associate at the London School of Economics and the University of Cambridge.
 

Orion Penner

Orion Penner is an interdisciplinary researcher studying innovation, science, and in particular the career trajectories of academic researchers. His work has been published in Science, PNAS and Research Policy.

Professor Jonathan Adams is Director at the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), a part of Clarivate Analytics. He is also a Visiting Professor at King’s College London, Policy Institute, and was awarded an Honorary D.Sc. in 2017 by the University of Exeter, for his work in higher education and research policy.

Caroline Birkle is Managing Director of Clarivate Analytics in Germany and Managing Director of the Research Office for the Web of Science Group. She joined Clarivate Analytics in April 2018 and has over a decade of experience at Thieme Gruppe, the Royal Society of Chemistry and Thomson Reuters before moving to Holtzbrinck Publishers.
 

Joseph Brightbill
Technology Lead for Custom Data
Web of Science Group

Joseph Brightbill is the technology lead for Custom Data projects and XML in the Web of Science Group of Clarivate Analytics. He has been with the company for nine years, starting in the Research Services Group working on both InCites 1.x and custom projects centered around bibliometric data from the Web of Science, InCites2, Essential Science Indicators, Journal Citation Reports and more. He graduated from Drexel University in 2012 with a BS in computer science.
 

Simon Thomson
Senior Scientific Analyst
Web of Science Group

Simon Thomson is leading Clarivate Analytics’ project to deliver citation data and support services to REF 2021. He also heads the Web of Science Group’s consulting team in the UK and Europe, and over the past decade has directed research evaluation projects for governments, funders and research institutions globally. He has a PhD is in Structural Biology and has worked in information services and pharmaceutical research.
