Basics of Bibliometrics

Two part online-workshop beginning Dec 5
Clarivate are pleased to be back with  Season-2 of their two-part workshop on “Basics of bibliometrics”.
This workshop aims to provide participants with a thorough understanding of citation analysis and bibliometric indicators, focusing on their use in research evaluation.

The sessions are scheduled on December 5th and 6th at 11:00 AM IST. Each session will be of 90 min. duration.

After completing the workshop, the participants will be able to:
  • Understand and interpret a wide range of publication- and citation-based statistics
  • Understand what constitutes proper and improper use of bibliometric and scientometric information in the evaluation of scientific research.

Dr. Subhasree Nag

Dr.  Subhasree  Nag  is  a  senior  business  solution  consultant  for  the scholarly research and life sciences division at Clarivate.  

She  completed  her  PhD  from  Texas  Tech  University  Health  Sciences Center,  USA  and  her  post-doctoral  training  from  Pacific  Northwest National Laboratory, USA.

A pharmacologist and toxicologist by training, she has more than 8 years of  research  experience  in  anticancer  drug  discovery  and pharmacokinetics  areas  with  25  peer  reviewed  publications  and  more than 1500 citations.

At Clarivate, she is involved in promoting Clarivate's scholarly research, drug discovery and intellectual property (IP) solutions, conducting author and research capacity workshops, bespoke consulting projects, etc.

She  was  a  co-author  on  the  UGC-Good  Academic  Research  Practices guidance  document released  in  2020.  She  also  writes for  the  Clarivate pharma  industry  magazine,  Bioworld,  where  she  contributes  to  articles related to early-stage discovery and preclinical studies.


 

Pavel Kasyanov
Principal Technical Solution Consultant

Pavel Kasyanov works with Clarivate for 18 years and is an expert in bibliometric analysis.

He worked on implementing the modern bibliometric approaches in evaluating science in Russia in 2009-2014, and worked directly with Russian universities to help them increase their research performance, research visibility and research impact globally, between 2015 and 2021.

Pavel also specialises on using Web of Science data for various custom analytical projects via APIs and works with Asian research organisations to implement modern approaches to integrate bibliometric data and research evaluation methodologies into their workflows."
