To better understand and support the library community, in the spring of 2024 Clarivate™ conducted a survey of over 1,500 academic, public and national librarians from all around the world .
The Pulse of the Library™ report aims to provide a pulse on the current trends, concerns and opportunities within the library community, with a particular focus on technological change, including AI.
The survey revealed compelling insights, such as:
Most libraries have an AI plan or one in the works
AI adoption is the top tech priority
AI is advancing library missions
AI skills gaps and shrinking budgets are top concerns
