A unified approach to fulfill a strategic plan.

The challenges of both digital transformation and the pandemic have impacted everyone within the library – from library leadership, middle management, to frontline staff. Each has caused libraries to assess where and how they are operating today, but more importantly think about how they should evaluate and prepare for the future. 
 
Join your colleagues from the Florida Gulf Coast University library in this live session and explore:

 

  • the strategic plan of the library team, 
  • discovering how the ideas behind it were generated with the active involvement of staff, and
  • examining how it has materialized through a range of innovative library services.
Discussion will focus on technology approaches, implementation of new services, workflow efficiencies, and individual contributions that are helping execute the library’s strategic plan.

Dr. Tracy Elliott, PhD - Dean, University Library 

Dr. Elliott has over 25 years in the library profession with the majority of that time as a Dean or Director, most recently at San José State University (SJSU) and currently at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). She has been at academic libraries of all sizes and at public-academic partnership libraries. She also served as a Patent Librarian at the U.S. Patent Office.  Her current research focuses on leadership and organizational learning/organizational innovation in higher education. She currently teaches graduate courses in the SJSU School of Information and the FGCU College of Education and is the CEO of Bertram Library Consulting.

Matt Losey 
Creative Commons Lab Coordinator 

Matthew Losey is the Creative Commons Lab Coordinator at the FGCU Library with a passion for creative technologies and enjoys educating others about the wide variety of technologies available to educate and innovate.

Emily Schaff 
Library Supervisor

Emily Schaff makes sure procedures are running smoothly from afternoon to close in her position as Library Supervisor. Some of her duties include processing loaning and borrowing requests, assisting patrons with Circulation-based services, and teaching essential workplace skills to Student Assistants. She recently graduated with a Master's in Library and Information Science from USF in Spring 2023.

Bailey Rodgers 
Archives Coordinator 

Bailey Rodgers is the Archives Coordinator for the University Archives and Special Collections at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has a bachelor’s in anthropology from FGCU and graduated with a master’s in information science from Florida State University. She began working at FGCU’s archives when she was an undergraduate student in 2018, which is where she discovered her passion for working in archives and libraries.
