Seema Freer, Ph.D.
Director of Research Development, Office of the Vice President for Research, Temple University
Dr. Seema Freer is the Director of Research Development at the Office of the Vice President for Research. Previously, she served at Temple as Associate Professor of Instruction and Managing Director of the Professional Science Master’s Programs in the Department of Biology. Dr. Freer holds a PhD in Genetics from Thomas Jefferson University and post-doctoral training from Fox Chase Cancer Center.
Rebecca Milczarek, Ph.D.
Assistant Director, Office of Research Development, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, University of Illinois Chicago
Dr. Rebecca Milczarek is the Assistant Director in the Office of Research Development at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). In her current role, Rebecca assists with the identification, development, preparation, and submission of research grants; acts as a research development resource to faculty pursuing external funding to advance the university’s research portfolio; and coordinates both individual grant-seeking efforts and larger team-based research proposal initiatives. Prior to joining UIC, Rebecca was a Research Agricultural Engineer/Lead Scientist with the United States Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Research Service, where her research focused on improving the environmental sustainability of the processing of specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, and nuts).
Joshua Roney, Ph.D.
Director, Research Development, Office of Research, University of Central Florida
Joshua Roney is Director of Research Development at the University of Central Florida (UCF). The Research Development team in the UCF Office of Research assists faculty across the university with limited submissions, internal/external funding opportunities, outreach workshops, collaboration events, and proposal preparation.
