The experience in managing COVID-19 has also reinforced the necessity of understanding local context to inform decision-making against global challenges and in turn, to having inter-connected researchers who are versed in local community challenges to address these.

Prof Urmilla Bob is a Full Professor of Geography in the School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences and University Dean of Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She is responsible for overseeing research ethics and monitoring of research outputs institutionally.

In her newest role her responsibilities include leading the Clarivate team in Africa and working with the research community to meet their objectives through the use of powerful tools, data and analytics.
